Light, whose birthday is this week, spoke movingly at the tribute. She shared the story of dining with her mother in Sardi’s over two decades ago and that her mother told her that one day her picture would be on the walls. In addition, Judith thanked Broadway powerhouse Daryl Roth for her personal friendship and being the first one to welcome Light to Broadway.

Judith Light is currently starring in the hit Broadway play “Lombardi” which has extended its run well into June. The buzz is that the popular actress is a leading contender for a Tony Award nomination.
